DIY Body Firming Scrub – Rice, Honey & Lilac

I simply love homemade body scrubs. They are brilliant and bring amazing effects in skincare as I always know what’s hidden inside them. This is why DIY cosmetics win over the ready-made ones. No matter how short and natural ingredients on the packaging, you can never be sure what’s really inside. DIY products have no secrets.

Today’s Proposition – RICE, HONEY & LILAC

Curious about the recipe? Believe me, it is very simple. The effects are worth the time you devote to preparation. Sadly, we can make it only in May as we need fresh lilac flowers. ‘The-beginning-of-summer’ body scrub.

What do you need?

  • a bag of soggy rice,
  • 2 tbs of honey,
  • 1 tbs of coconut/almond milk,
  • 2 tbs of olive oil (or other oil),
  • a handful of lilac flowers.

How to Make the Scrub?

Put rice in a bowl and rinse it with boiling water; leave for 5 minutes. Drain the rice (the water can be used for a hair rinse) and add other ingredients. Mix well.

For the Lazy Ones 🙂

If you have no time for making mixtures, there is an easier way. Before the bath, rinse a rice bag with boiling water. Add the rice to your favorite shower gel. Ready!


You cannot deny the scrub’s effectiveness. From my own experience, the simplest recipes and widely-available ingredients deliver the best results. That’s why if you regularly use the rice and lilac scrub, you will enjoy an amazing smoothness, moisture, nourishment and soothing.
