Girls,
you know it very well that I love talking about hairdressing trends on the blog. I am a hair maniac and adore going through hoops with my hairdo. I test almost every hairstyle and trend that appears on blogs and popular portals. That is why you can admire such original hairdos on my Instagram – also the source of many inspirations.
I live in the world of colorful and miscellaneous hairstyles!
On the other hand, there are moments when I run out of ideas or dislike everything. It is the time when I go back to my tried&tested, beloved hairdos. Even such a hair freak has her favorite styles that are not that crazy. They are simply very comfortable.
One of such hairstyles is TOP KNOT – the comfiest hairdo ideal for summer heat waves. Interestingly, the very top knot is making a comeback now!
Going back to old days…
Top knot is celebrating a great comeback after long years of absence during which we went for subtler hairstyles. After all, top knot is for those who like more expressive style. In the 90s top knot was a hot hairdo; Gwen Stefani started wearing such a hairstyle and made it popular. However, its history dates back to the 60s when top knot entered the world of hairdressing thanks to Audrey Hepburn.
Obviously, top knot evaluated over the years. Today, it comes in many different versions. Three top knots are most trendy now:
- a smooth bun on the top of your head,
- a loose bun made up of only the hair on the top of your head,
- two symmetric buns almost on the top of your head.
Version no 2 – samurai 🙂 – is my favorite.
Why do I like top knot?
It makes me feel very comfy because my hair is gathered – no strands falling on my face. It is a flyaway-free hairdo. Another plus comes along, important especially in the summer. Top knot lets your face rest from e.g. a bang which is a bad idea to wear on hot days. Thanks to top knot, I can feel fresh. What’s more, the hairdo enhances our facial features, making the face look slimmer.
