We know facial rollers mostly from Instagram. These massaging tools look beautiful on a dressing table, but apart from the lovely design, they have a beneficial effect on the appearance of the face. I’ve had my roller for a few months and know one thing for sure: I’m not going to give it up! See what effects a facial roller produces and if it’s good value for money.
Which facial roller to choose?
Rollers are made from gemstones. The most popular face rollers are made from quartz and jadeite.
- Rose quartz is called the love stone, has a lovely pink color, and is cold so it has a cooling effect.
- Jadeite is called the stone of eternal youth, has a green color, and stimulates the blood flow.
Both stones have similar effects. I picked the rose quartz roller mostly for the color I love.
What else to check before buying a facial roller?
- First of all, make sure it is really made from gemstone – this is priority!
- What type of metal is used for the roller (cheaper one will rust).
What benefits do facial rollers bring?
- even skin tone
- relaxation and relief
- improved blood flow
- less puffy face
- cooling effect (quartz roller works better for this purpose)
- increased absorption of active substances (e.g. from cream)
Can everybody use facial rollers?
A face roller works for any skin type but shouldn’t be used if you have:
- broken capillaries
- acute acne
- fresh scars, damaged skin
How to use a facial roller?
First thing is putting a roller in the fridge (not freezer!) for better effects. For a start, apply a face oil, serum or moisturizer. Roll your neck and then massage the skin moving towards the outer edges of the face. The pressure you apply is up to you. Remember to wash the roller after each massage.
Is face roller good value for money?
I think it is. You buy it once and then use it for years! It’s good to incorporate face rolling massage into the daily skincare routine. Naturally, only using the roller consistently produces the best effects. I noticed the benefits after the first massage! I believe it isn’t just another useless gadget.
